Day 8 - Shinagawa and the Aqua Stadium

Hey everyone, today was a relaxing day our rail passes ran out today so we spent the day getting last mintue gifts and things to bring back which we did in the morning.
After collecting a few gifts we decided to go and play bowling which is located in the hotel where we are staying.
We played 4 games and then went on a few arcade machines trying to win a selection of gifts they had in there machines but we didnt win a thing ,those things are fixed im sure of it!.
In the afternoon we went to the Aqua Stadium which is also located in our hotel this place was crazy!,loads of marine fish and massive stingrays lined the entrance to the main attractions which were a dolphin arean and a sealion arena, these areans were quite big in size and both had about 30minutes of entertainment on offer.
We went to the sealion one first and I was impressed in what i saw, very clever creatures and massive in size too first time ive ever seen both the dolphins and sealions in my life so it was a good experience to have.
Second after the sealions was the dolphin show, so me and Brendan got in early bought some popcorn, milkbread and drinks then made our way to our seats,we had pretty much the whole arena to choose from so we sat right near the front and hoped we didnt get too soaked.
The show began before we knew it and we recorded the show on camera and took a few pictures ,again the show was insaine the dolphins were jumping around and doing tricks all on command again an impressive show to see.
We are going to get something to eat and just walk around the local area now so be sure to check back tomorrow as its our last day here before we fly back on sunday.

Day 7- Ueno Zoo & Harajuku

Hello again.

Today we went to Ueno to look around the Zoo. For some reason it was free today so we walked right in. The place was very busy but was massive. It was the first time I've ever seen elephants, Lions and Tigers up close. It was hard to get any good photos or videos behind glass but did get a few. After we left the zoo we watched a few bands playing on the park. One of them was a Japanese band playing with various drums and pianos and there was another African drum band playing so there was plenty to see.

After a little while we left for Harajuku which is famous for busy street markets. We walked and walked and walked but all we seemed to find was clothes shops. We tried to have a look for anyone in strange dresses but there wasn't many today for some reason but did see one girl in some weird pink dress and a couple of others in black dotted dress getting on a train. We had some time left so decided to go back to Shibuya to look around the shops.

Here is one of the videos I recorded while at the Zoo.

Shibuya

Hello everyone. Today was another long day of travelling around and sight seeing but we got back a bit earlier than usual so went back to our Hotel and freshened up and went back out to a place called Shibuya, which is the busiest train station in the world and has a shopping district with a famous crossing which I recorded and uploaded for you to see. We had to get a Starbucks then go up to the second floor to get a good view of the crossing (Everyone starts to cross at about 30 seconds into the video)

It was almost too much to take as there are shops and people walking everwhere. We had a quick look around and went into a small arcade where we some crazy Japanese guy playing Dance Dance Revolution, he was probably trying to beat a high record judging by the effort he was putting into it. We played Time Crises 3 and done shockingly bad so decided to leave before we embarrassed ourselves further.

We got a bit hungry after that so went for a Fresh Burger which is a really good place to go as they use fresh ingredients on every order which was a nice change from the Mcdonalds burgers.

Day 6 -Peter Rabbit,Bon jovi,an American and a few shrines

hey everyone, today we saw a few intresting things and met some great people,we got up around 8 ish and headed to that costal town in south japan called Kamakuru it took around 50 mins by tokyo subway.
While we were waiting for our train on the platform a massive group of school children with teachers all came to the same platform and it was crazy, they all look at us like we were famous saying "hello" and greetng us with smiles...crazy,they were going ona school trip to the same place we were,Kamakuru.
That wasnt the end of meeting people ... once we arrived at Kamakuru main station we had to board another small slower local railway which went along the same road as the local cars!
we met another person this time a older japanese man who looked at us and said"ah....where you from"....as we began to communicate with the local, he said he too had been to England and said "peter rabbit !" and all of a sudden started singing the national athem "god save the ...Queen" lol,it was so funny.
Once we were getting closer to our stop more boarded and more looked at us ,we were really out in the middle of nowhere today,as this one guy said hello right away witha huge smile, when we got off at our first stop he got off to and came up to us to shake our hand and tried to speak to us in English but spoke very very poorly...lol,we said "bon jovi" "bonjovi"..."very good" then he was on his way.
we looked around this town a bit and made our way to local shrines and took a few pics before making our way back up the track towards Kamakuru to see some bigger shrines and the famous Budda, once we arrived at the budda we met up with the same bunch of school kids we met at the Station back in Tokyo, they started shouting and the teacher took a picture of us with a group of them all putting up a hand signal of peace.
We took a a few more pics and headed to a few more places lots to tell about but dont have alot of time youll have to wait til you see the photos we have its a crazy place Japan everywhere is so different.
We headed back on the train and met yet ANOTHER person this time an American girl who boarded the same train called karen, she was coming to see a freind in tokyo and we had a chat about japan and the normal things it was a day of meeting many different people but nice too.
When we got back to our hotel we decided to go to a place that american girl told us about in tokyo called shibuya its a mega crazy busy place but ill leave Brendan to tell you about it enjoy the pics and vids and ill update again tomorrow as we are off localy to see more of the districts.

Day 5- Snow Monkeys!

Hello Everyone. Today was a more relaxing day, as we got up at 7.00am and made our way to Nagano on the Shinkasan. Nagano is a rural mountain town North of Tokyo. It only took a couple of hours to get there and a short bus ride to the Snow Monkey Park. As soon as we reached the park we could see monkeys jumping on roof tops and climbing trees. The monkeys are very tame and would let you stand close to them to take photos and film some footage. They like to relax in the hot spa and eat apples all day long. I have uploaded some footage of them below.

Konichiwa!...from japan, today has been a good day everything went to plan except on the way back we boarded the wrong bus while waiting up too 45mins for it to arrive! we got on the bus asked the driver if it went back to the main nagano station which we came from he said yes....but must of misunderstood as we ended up at a rural train station in the middle of no where!....everything was ok though as we got help from a ticket inspector and boarded a train to nagano.
The bus we got on which was the wrong one was a experience in it self, when we boarded the bus was full to the rim with japanese men in there 50s and 60s,when we boarded they said something to us really loud and all of them started to applaud us as we made our way to our seats they must of never seen white people before or something because they went crazy!
Also before getting on a bus to the park we had a local taxi driver come up to us and spoke little english too us ,he then pulled out his mobile and snapped each of us lol....crazy!
Anyway back to the day it was great ,we got real close to those monkeys, nice little creatures they let me get so close to there face and i used flash on my camera and they didnt even move a inch.good day.
Tomorrow we are planning on a Shorter journey south of Tokyo to a place called Kumakara too see some shrines and a big giant buddha which is a main tourist attraction.
Thats all from me til ill update again take care all and see you soon.

Attack of the Mos Burger!

Konichiwa! We thought we would keep a daily blog of the food we eat while we are out and about so here are a few pictures.

The first picture is were we broke some rules and got a Mcdonalds tonight because we were too tired to go anywhere else and it is located just below our hotel so thought it would be easier to just go for that.

The second is of a weird bottle of coke which is actually like a tin can.

The third picture is of the 'Mos burger' we have been looking for since we arrived in Japan. It is the Japanese version to Mcdonalds and was very nice to have with some Lemon tea.
